Gulf Coast Association of Governmental Purchasing Officers (GCAGPO)

As a chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. (NIGP), we are a Florida membership-based non-profit organization providing support to professionals of various levels in the public sector purchasing profession. Purchasing professionals throughout Florida are encouraged to join GCAGPO.

GCAGPO provides assistance to its members with many services, including education assistance, professional networking, research, and technical assistance. The chapter strives to maintain the highest standard of ethics, integrity, public trust and awareness.

Meetings are held quarterly at various locations throughout Florida in order to accommodate and attract membership attendance. To join us at a quarterly meeting, please see the Upcoming Events section of our web site.

We encourage Florida professionals involved in Public Purchasing to join our efforts, and we look forward to welcoming you.

GCAGPO's MISSION

  • Foster and promote advancement in the public purchasing profession through study and discussion, working towards certification in the purchasing profession from UPPCC.
  • Provide a forum for exchanging ideas and information designed for the mutual interest and benefit of the governmental purchaser.
  • Develop and promote simplified standards and specifications for governmental purchasing.
  • Give taxpayers information on governmental procurement in order to foster interest and cooperation between government purchasers and those they serve.
